I personally reckon that the establishment of an AFL womans league was a great initiative and is certainly exciting to see how it unfolds. However, is anyone skeptical about its potential future success? Although this is a great idea, I just don't think it will be as successful as it is painted to be because it just isn't as interesting to watch. I'm taking my opinion out from the Demons v Bulldogs game which was quite enjoyable, however that was top talent playing against each other. How interesting would it be once the talent is spread out amongst multiple teams rather than two?

Well they have moved the opening game to a bigger ground id heard so It wont bomb. Can see it being bigger than W-League and WNBL but maybe not as big as the Netball.
As for the talent it will grow as more girls see the avenues open to playing the game, just as every is saying us and the Suns is to many teams.

League will be okay.
We, the Giants, will be absolute crap.
But, it's another Giants team to support so I'm all in and will go to both games here in Melbourne to cheer them on.

I haven't been following the womans league at all, let alone the Giants league. Is the giants womans team crap? I actually thought I overheard that they were good.

Nah, not us unfortunately. I've got a friend who is on the coaching team she would've been a star had this thing been around 8 years ago, but she's too old now. She said we're a long way behind the pack.

The Bookies have us outsiders for what's that is worth. In a new comp who really knows until we see? The Bulldogs are cocky but arrogance seems to be the new black for them.

Look this is new. With over 60% NSW ladies we are more looking at building a club than winning straight out of the box (hmmm that sounds familiar (

Well last night wasn't a great game for the Giants W team Neither was round 1 of our Mens senior team in 2012. You're right. But I still found that match exciting to watch, there were still skills. Whereas that was non existent with the womens team. Not just the GWS womens team but the whole league. If it weren't for all the media propaganda shoving it down everyones throats about the exciting future and lock outs, I wouldn't be so dissapointed with the performances.

If it weren't for all the media propaganda shoving it down everyones throats about the exciting future and lock outs, I wouldn't be so dissapointed with the performances. Have to remember. These girls have only been treated like professional athletes since November last year. There are no prime pathways like there is for the mens. Hell the locker rooms for our ladies were only just finished recently, havent heard much about the other teams. Itll take time. And if we all support it (who doesnt want more Giants footy?) Then itll grow and in time the professionalism will be there. The heart our girls showed when clearly out matched and with a home town ump was up lifting. They took our motto of Never Surrender and won that last quarter. Must have patience (a term i used to say to opposition supporters way to often, now i just reply in troll like kind). Rome wasnt built in a day. Our club will be become the biggest and the best. A GIANT club if you will
