Can someone remind me why we picked up these two? I just can't quite understand unless they're like our backup players. I feel like we've got a greater mixture of young talent as well as experienced veterans.

I think it was just for the experience. Anyways, they do provide more depth as backup players and we didn't have to give up anything for them so I don't really mind. Who knows, they may show something this year

yep, they provide more depth. I doubt they'll be playing much but happy to be proved wrong.

They've both done really well in the time trials. People at the draft insist it was Leon who moved to grab De Boer. Remember the WAFL is several levels above the NEAFL in standard. Muzungu was a free hit delisted. We upgraded Sam Reid from the rookie list and played him last year. I reckon he saved the game against GC at Metricon with composure when we were rattled in the first QTR. When things go to hell the younger guys need a cool head around them. I dont know if they'll play but I expect De Boer at least might at some stage. IMO They'll both be a positive influence on training stanards.Word from WA is they trained together and were very committed in the WAFL

But yes, they both provide a positive influence in terms of training standards and overall standards of being a pro athlete

Tendai played 3 seasons straight without missing a game before he fell out of favour with ross. Was always reliable and can float forward and kick a couple
DeBoar i have never been a big fan of but he is a bull and doesnt take a backwards step. Would have been handy in the prelim

Would have been handy in the prelim Ineresting my information isn't first hand but from research on the Freo BF board. I did glean they were both experienced professionals who weren't favoured by Ross, and drew conclusions from that. Are you saying De Boer's disposal isn't great? That makes a difference. We do have a disturbingly bad stat in one on one contested posessions wins, so he might still have a role of that is tje case. For Mzungu I was working on the assumption he would need someone on the long term injury list to be upgraded from the Rookie list and picked if Leon wanted to play him. I think we've traded them all out and have no-one currently but that will inevitably chakhe I guess.

Agree with Joey above, provides depth. See you found the board. Dont think BF wants to help a competitor.

But he makes up for it by smashing guys Gu though has great disposal

Experience and back up seems the reason, I think we were all a bit shocked on how things went down on draft night. But until I see something that shows they have lost it, the list managers have my faith.

Agreed Wonder how long it will be before the first troll account appears. Dont want to be cynical, but my head insists on being realistic
